MERU Announces Election to the Partnership, Welcomes Laura Marcero, Partner

ATLANTA — MERU, an operationally focused professional services firm, is pleased to announce the election of Laura Marcero as Partner based out of our New York office.

Laura is a seasoned operator and advisor who brings nearly 30 years of experience helping middle-market companies navigate financial distress, complex restructurings, and market shifts. She works closely with management teams, Boards, and sponsors to develop and execute turnaround plans that preserve value and reposition companies for long-term success. She is particularly experienced with the automotive sector, having advised hundreds of global suppliers in a variety of capacities.

Before joining MERU, Laura was a Managing Director at Huron Consulting Group, where she led numerous in- and out-of-court restructurings across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, consumer products, and business services. Her hands-on leadership and practical approach have earned her a reputation for delivering clarity in crisis and momentum in moments of uncertainty.

Laura often serves as Chief Restructuring Officer or financial advisor in challenging situations, guiding clients through liquidity shortfalls, operational misalignment, and stakeholder negotiations. She has deep experience working with family-owned businesses, sponsor-backed platforms, and companies under creditor pressure.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. She lives in Detroit with her family and is active in mentoring women in finance and restructuring.
